More Writer's Strike crap

I have been getting a ton of crap from people who support the writers in this stupid strike. People are mistakingly assuming I am siding with the corporations - I am not. I personally think it is actually unfair how the writers are being treated - it's unfair how every worker is treated who works for someone else. They do all the work and get paid the least. That is how any business works. Period.

I just disagree with how they are going about it. If it were me, I'd form a massive company with all these writers and make the internet into the TV of today. It is on the verge of it anyway. We aren't too far away from TV being the internet and vice versa.

Do what those comic book dudes did with Iron Horse or whatever they were called. They own all their own work now, too. Unless you just want to be a salaried worker unsucessfully asking for a piece of the executive's pie, you need to be independant. People are trying to say this strike is shoving a big middle finger in the face of "the man." No. This strike is saying "I want to be 'the man,' too."

Good point - real progress is made by completely unrealistic sudden drastic shifts in the market in your favor whereas trying to band together and negotiate with your employers is a hopeless act which defies the very rules of capitalism.

Wasn't it Ayn Rand who once said that any economic agreement must be a one-sided agreement to the benefit of the larger party? Oh no wait, she didn't, because even she wasn't that fucking stupid.

I guess not everyone is a revolutionary.

That, or some at least know how to set realistic goals for change. Getting paid for the work you do is one thing - destroying the old industry that screwed you? Well that's sort of a more long-term plan.

    Yes, Dr. Phil.
