Shinedown actually made an ok song

Well, it took "Florida rockers" (as the news articles say to identify the location and general demeanor of a group of people) Shinedown 3 albums to do it, but they made a decent song. All by themselves! Wowie! Check out some shinedown photos - what tools!

I heard it on the radio today. I don't know what it was called. But I will say this: it's good to know we live in a country that will take a dogshit act like Shinedown and give them as long as possible to make something above-average.

There's a reason why Shinedown concerts are almost never sold out. It's because the best thing they had done prior to whatever their current single is was an acoustic cover of Lynyrd Skynynynynyard's "Simple Man" that wasn't dogshit because that shit-ass band wasn't playing generic "modern rock" under that guy's actually pretty kickass voice. In fact, if he were in a band that didn't suck... like VELVET REVOLVER (nudge, nudge)... That'd be awesome. Actually, no... Lenny Kravitz would rock in VR. I want Lenny Kravitz.

Why does rock music have to suck so bad? It's my favorite genre of contemporary music and it just plain sucks. Either it's generic metal-ish-but-accessable-to-the-classic-rock-crowd-Hinder-Angel-whatever horsecock or it's full-blown relive-the-80s-check-out-the-new-Motley-Crue-abortion excretions. Fortunately, things have been turning around a bit lately. And Shinedown is evidence. If a terrible shit band like them can make an ok song, there is hope.

2,000+ Subscribers on YouTube! Free T-Shirts!

Well, it's official. This year, my YouTube channel has grown 10x. During 2006 AND 2007, about 200 people subscribed. Granted, all the stuff that went on here at that time sucked crap, but this year... 2008: 1800+ new subscribers. I'm seriously so happy about this, as YouTube is basically going to be TV. The people staking their claims now are the people who are going to be running the show in a few years.

And in a few years, I'll still be doing this. I'm always going to do this. I've done it since 1999. There is a video of me walking into a gas station with a big block of ice in a basket in the middle of winter and declaring that my Ice, Ice, Baby needed to warm up. That tape is in someone's house or is erased or something. I have no idea. But it was from either 1999 or 2000. That's 8-9 years. It's nuts.

To everyone who has watched a video, rated it, commented on it, etc: thank you so much. It's cool that something as eclectic as the stuff that I put on the internet can get a following. It's definitely no vlog, and yet people like it! Weird!

Vlogs suck.

Anyway, anyone who isn't a subscriber on YT, you should definitely hit that up. Why? Because I give away a free t-shirt from the crap store on PeterCoffin.com every month to a random YouTube subscriber.

So thanks again everyone, and have a great evening. September is going to have some EPIC material. Peace!

Great day...

Well, I had a great day. I worked most of my time making what I consider to be my best song thus far. It's going to be exclusively on my album and on my DVD later in the year - no YouTube for the video or anything. It's not going to be the only exclusive stuff, either. There have been a couple things that I have made that I didn't think really did the trick or finished after the inspiration became null (after a story stops mattering, for instance).

This will be particularly interesting, though, as the DVD will even have something that was banned from YouTube. The Kwame Kilpatrick (mayor of Detroit) video will be on the DVD. It's going to be called Everyone is Wrong About Everything, by the way. I am not sure if it will be released this year or next, but rest assured... it will be MOUNDS better than Peter Coffin is a Douche, which I consider to be a pretty decent compilation of my stuff. But this time around, I like what I am doing way better. I think everything has a much more professional touch nowadays and it makes me quite happy.

Not long after the DVD, I'm going to put out a new music album. It's hip hop, not necessarily rap - though there is a lot of rap on it. That is going to be called Morality Tales for People who like Curse Words. Both the DVD and the new album are going to be given proper publicity this time around - meaning I'll be hiring a real publicist.

With any luck, this time around stuff will work out. I think the album is going to be killer, though. I think it's going to be a huge step forward as far as anything you've seen or heard out of me. The DVDs you basically know what you are getting - the best stuff from the year and me talking about it along with some interesting things. So anyone who is into my stuff: this is what's next. We'll see where we go from there!

Paris Hilton is being useful!?

Wait, wait... So Paris Hilton can step up an not be the most useless human being to ever roam this earth? She is self-aware enough to parody something and make the point that turning the Presidential election's attention to her is as useless as LSD is to a blind dude? Wow.

Props to her. I find myself actually liking her today - no doubt she will dash that sometime in the future, but I am impressed as all hell today.

Criminey!

This is the kind of stuff that really trips me up. Like, I REALLY don't think people know who I am. I try to get my stuff out there. I add people on MySpace in an attempt to get them to read my blog posts and bulletins (which contain my videos).

I guess some people like me. Like, that is so fricking awesome. I am less social on the internet than I am in real life (which, might I add, I am not very) and somehow I make some kind of an impact on some people - if even a very small amount. That makes a lot of stuff I do worthwhile - knowing someone out there thinks the same way I do.

So basically, yeah. The power of the Internet, there. We live in an amazing time.
